Shrewsbury is an attractive suburb just east of Worcester. The town has experienced considerable growth due to its strong school system and quality of life. This vibrant community offers economic and ethnic diversity, access to many cultural and recreational activities, retail stores, and medical facilities, plus easy commuting access to Worcester and Boston.

The town maintains 16 parks, five school athletic facilities, two state owned boat ramps, and the Donahue Rowing Center grounds. Its recreation department offers numerous activities, including gymnatics, art classes, basketball, flag football, summer rowing, fitness classes, and more. Shrewsbury is also home to a private championship golf course with pool and tennis courts.

Nearby activities include Asssabet Splash Pad, Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center and Wildlife Sanctuary, EcoTarium Museum of Science and Nature, Noodle Noggin’ ‘N Bean (5,000-sq ft educational learning center), Ski Ward Ski and Tubing, and Still River Family Paddling.

Major routes accessible from Shrewsbury are Rt 290, 190, and 9. There is also a Commuter Rail station on the Shrewsbury/Westboro line that travels to/from Worcester and Boston. The train from Worcester to Boston takes approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
