Twice named one of the "Best Places to Live" by Money Magazine, Westborough is noted for its high ranking public school system, abundance of restaurants and shopping, and easy train and highway access.

The community has grown from a settlement of orchards and dairies into a dynamic community with a mix of residences, wooded trails, and industry. Many technology and biotech companies, including Applix, Inc., Astra-Zeneca, Arch Wireless, EMC, Ascential Software, and American Superconductor have offices in town.

Westborough offers easy access to Routes 9, 495, and the Mass Pike. There’s also a Commuter Rail station in town, offering residents access to the Worcester/Framingham train line, which runs from Worcester’s Union Station to Boston’s South Station. The express train takes approximately an hour from Westborough to South Station. The train from Westborough to Worcester takes approximately 18 minutes. The town offers a semi-private 9-hole golf course, country club, tennis and swim club, and group bike rides. In addition, the Westborough Recreation Department offers ice skating, crafts, gymnastics, and karate for preschoolers; karate, ice skating, field hockey, tennis, soccer, lacrosse, Special Olympics, golf, fitness, jazzercise, football, basketball, softball, ski & snowboarding, and horseback riding for school age children; fitness, fitness bootcamp, golf Tai Chi, jazzercise, ice skating, tennis, kick boxing, co-ed badminton, men’s 18 and over basketball, and men’s 30 and over basketball for adults.

The town is also in the process of developing the Westborough Charm Bracelet, a planned network of trails that will include a 28-mile loop trail around the community to connect most of the major open space areas within the town.
